I. Quá trình học tập/công tác:

- Tốt nghiệp chuyên ngành Sinh lý thực vật, Khoa Sinh học, Đại học Tổng hợp Hà Nội năm 1966.

- Bảo vệ luận án tiến sĩ tại Tiệp Khắc năm 1974.

- Được phong học hàm Giáo sư năm 1996.

- Các chức vụ đảm nhiệm: Phó chủ nhiệm khoa Sinh học (1993-1996); Chủ nhiệm khoa Sinh học (1997-2001); Thường vụ đảng uỷ Trường Đại học Khoa học Tự nhiên; Chủ tịch Hội Sinh lý thực vật Việt Nam; Chủ tịch câu lạc bộ Hoà bình Việt Nam-Ixraen; Chủ tịch Hội đồng KH-ĐT ngành Sinh học của ĐHQGHN.
