Supported by Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies, ARC Fudan, as the first of its kind in Mainland China, has good relationships with the other seven Asian Research Centers around China. And this guarantees a good foundation of close cooperation.

We have taken all kinds of opportunities to know and learn from other Asian Research Centers, and meanwhile to be known by them.

Plans of Cooperation:

1) About Shanghai Forum 2007

Fudan University has already held 1^st Shanghai Forum in 2005, and the 2^nd Shanghai Forum is under preparation. In the ARC Directors Workshop in China, August 2006, ARC Fudan suggested that other centers give their supports to Shanghai Forum. After discussion, we’ve decided that other centers would take part in the Shanghai Forum in the name of Backup Organization. Detail suggestions are as follows,1) Give suggestions on how to hold Shanghai Forum 2007 successfully.

2) Introduce and help to invite government officials, international organization representatives, distinguished scholars and entrepreneurs in accordance with the

theme and topics of Shanghai Forum.3) Give supports on the introduction, promotion, publication, etc.

3) Co-host Asian Study Forum with Asia-Pacific Research Institute of Peking University

Besides focus on researches in some certain areas, ARC should also summarize the long-term research situation. As to the basic topics in Asian study, discussions should be taken from different views of multi-subjects. And this will give further reference to the specific researches. Due to these considerations above, the directors of ARC Fudan and APRI suggested in December 2005 that the two organizations hold the Asian Study Forum together. In April 2006, it came to a further decision that Fudan-Peking Asian Study Forum and Peking-Fudan Asian Study Forum will be held in a proper time later. Experts from different areas, such as economics, culture, politics, sociology, international relationships, will be invited to participate in the forum to give speeches and make further discussions. As the host organization of the 1^st Asian Study Forum, ARC Fudan is preparing for this big event. We sincerely hope that other Asian Research Centers will come to help and make it a high level academic forum together.
